Life can take unpredictable turns, leaving us in pain and disbelief.  At times we get over it. At other times we dwell in there for a long time as if there was no way out. It may feel lonely and unexplainable and yet time passes by.  â€‹

Psychotherapist in Ealing, West London, and London Bridge, Central London

My name is Erika. I am an experienced and approachable Transactional Analysis  Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist in Private Practice in Ealing, West London, London Bridge, Central London and online. I developed a wealth of knowledge from various settings including the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Mental Health Charities, Psychotherapy Clinics and Private Practice. I work with individuals and couples presenting with a wide range of emotional and psychological issues with a particular focus on trauma, PTSD, neurodivergence, ADHD, anxiety, depression, sexuality and relationships.

Transactional Analysis is my main therapeutic frame, which emphasises collaboration, authenticity and spontaneity for a more autonomous and rewarding way of living. When appropriate, I integrate other approaches such as  EMDR Therapy, Polyvagal, Attachment and Neurodivergence theory, to work on trauma and diversity while supporting you to embrace your uniqueness.

I believe we are all shaped by the relationships we experienced while growing up and that we develop from them the ways we relate to ourselves, to  others and form relationships in adult life. Sometimes this can result in adaptations or coping mechanisms that may prevent us from becoming who we really are by feeding into unhelpful beliefs such as: 'I don't deserve to be loved' or 'I have to sacrifice my needs in order to belong', etc. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

We may find ourselves experiencing certain recurring themes or ways of living in our life that have become familiar, even though they don't always feel comfortable or bring us the joy we long for. I believe unaddressed experience of hurt may lead us to repeat the same defeating patterns in adult life.

In the safe and supportive environment of the therapeutic relationship we can explore these experiences as they emerge, understanding that they reflect one's unique journey. We will work together towards developing understandings and meanings of patterns and dynamics that might have been helpful in the past but that might be limiting your life in the present or preventing you from living a more fulfilling life experience.

My practice is based in Ealing (W5), West London, and in London Bridge (SE1), Central London. I also offer online sessions via Zoom.

I offer psychotherapy in English and in Italian, which is my native language.

What happens in the first session

I suggest we meet for an initial consultation so that you can get a sense of what it feels like to work with me and decide if it is the right decision for you at this time. In our initial meeting, you can tell me about your motivations and what you wish to achieve and we can explore how we might work together. We can meet for four-five sessions before making a decision about a possible longer-term work. I have regular reviews to see how therapy is working for you and if it matches your expectations.
